Dr. Nikolaos Soulitzis obtained his Bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Athens, Greece (2000), and his PhD from the Medical School, University of Crete, Greece (2006). He was a Lecturer for 4 years at the Medical School, University of Crete (2007-2011), among other things teaching the undergraduate classes “Medical Microbiology I & II” and “Molecular Oncology”, and supervising the PhD thesis of more than 10 post-graduate students. Dr. Soulitzis is from the year 2000 until today a member of the research team of the Laboratory of Clinical Virology of the University of Crete. In the past he has worked as a post-doc researcher in the Laboratory of Molecular Pneumology of the University of Crete (2009-2014), and was a visiting scientist at the Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) of the Karolinska University in Stockholm (2010). He is a reviewer in several international scientific journals and member of various Hellenic and International scientific societies, and his research in the fields of Oncology, Urology, Gynaecology, Perinatal Medicine and Pneumology, with 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 65 announcements in international and Greek congresses, has been cited more than 500 times from the scientific community.
